Inspire® therapy is a mask-free solution for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who have tried and struggled with CPAP. Through a simple-to-use system including the Inspire® implant, Inspire™ remote and Inspire® app, Inspire® therapy enables you to control your OSA treatment from the palm of your hand.
During sleep, your tongue relaxes. For people with OSA, your tongue relaxes into a position that blocks your airway. While other OSA therapies use a hose and mask to force air through your airway, the Inspire® implant works comfortably2 inside your body to sense when you take a breath. Then, it delivers gentle pulses that move your tongue forward to keep your airway open, helping you breathe regularly and sleep soundly. Simply use the small handheld Inspire® remote to turn your therapy on when you’re ready to sleep.
Use the handheld Inspire™ remote to turn therapy on when you’re ready to sleep.
Physician
Dr. Elise Cheng is a physician at Greenwich ENT with specialized training in Inspire® therapy for obstructive sleep apnea. She works with patients who have tried CPAP and are looking for a clinically proven, mask-free alternative to improve their sleep and overall health.
The Greenwich ENT team is here to help you understand Inspire® therapy, confirm if you qualify, and guide you through next steps, starting with an airway exam.
During your consultation, Dr. Cheng takes the time to understand your sleep apnea history, prior treatments, and symptoms. If Inspire® therapy may be an option, she will guide you through the next step—an in-office airway exam—to determine whether you are a candidate.

The Inspire® therapy process is designed to be straightforward and guided at every step. Here’s what you can expect when you begin care with Greenwich ENT.
Meet with an Inspire-trained ENT to review your sleep apnea history, CPAP experience, and symptoms. We’ll answer questions and walk through next steps.
A short, in-office exam helps your doctor evaluate your airway and confirm whether Inspire therapy may work for you.
If you qualify, the Inspire implant is placed during an outpatient procedure, typically lasting about 90 minutes. Most patients go home the same day.
After healing, Inspire therapy is turned on. You’ll use a handheld remote to start therapy at bedtime, then gradually adjust settings to your comfort level.
Your care team monitors progress and fine-tunes settings over time to help you sleep better and get the best results from therapy.
If you’ve tried CPAP and are still struggling with sleep apnea, Inspire® therapy may be an option. The first step is a consultation with an Inspire® trained ENT physician to review your symptoms, answer your questions, and determine whether an airway exam is appropriate.
