Microneedling with PRP

When blood is drawn from your arm, it is processed and separated into red blood cells, platelet-poor plasma and platelet-rich plasma. The platelet-rich plasma, which contains beneficial proteins, is applied to the treatment area.

This treatment can help alleviate:

• Uneven skin texture

Microneedling with PRP usually takes 30-60 minutes. Once the blood has been drawn and sorted, your ENT will apply a topical anesthetic to your face. Then, a microneedling pen will be used on the treatment area to prick tiny holes in the skin. This activates the skin’s natural healing process and stimulates collagen production.

Your doctor will then massage the PRP into the treatment areas. Microneedling allows the PRP to penetrate the skin, effectively delivering nourishing elements and stimulating additional collagen production.

Next, your doctor will apply a balm to your face to reduce irritation and redness.

Depending on your response to the procedure, PRP with microneedling has little to no downtime. Many patients return to their usual routines the following day.

Your ENT will tell you what results you can expect and how many treatments may be necessary. In many cases, skin tone and texture improvements can be seen after one or two treatment sessions. 

Results from PRP with microneedling usually last between 6-12 months. Your provider will discuss how often you should schedule follow-up treatments to consistently maintain your results.
